There is no shortage of cultural activities to be found in our City, but if you’re an arts and history buff it can add up. Fortunately, many of New York’s best cultural venues offer free admission on select days and times. During the 2019-2020 season, the New York Philharmonic will give away free tickets to select Friday shows to people ages 13-26. Simply log on to their portal on the Monday before to register.
The Whitney Museum of American Art, featuring contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries, is free on Fridays from 7-9:30pm.
The Guggenheim specializes in Impressionist and Modern art and offers free admission on Saturdays from 5-7:30pm.
Temporarily closed for renovations until October 21, 2019, MoMA hosts free Fridays from 4-8pm, often with food and bands.
The Frick Collection houses works by the old masters and offers open admission on Wednesday from 2-6pm.
