Sherwin-Williams Unveils the 2020 Color of the Year

In America, we just can’t help jumping the gun. We just get so excited. Halloween decorations have been on the shelves since August, 2020 automobiles started hitting the lots a full nine months before we’re due to flip our calendars, and now, just shy of October, Sherwin-Williams has announced its pick for the 2020 Color of the Year: Tada! Naval SW 6244.

This bold choice is a distinct departure from the 2019 Pantone color of the year, Living Coral, and will likely have those in favor or more masculine decor breathing a sigh of relief. Sherwin-Williams describes the color “on the horizon between ocean and evening sky rests a color of infinite calmness.” What’s not to like about that? To avoid the risk of drowning in a sea of blue, however, Sherwin Williams provided us with shades to pair it with.

Situate these combinations around finishes of polished marble, gleaming metals, and soft leather for a look of luxe, and you’ll be all set for 2020.
