Sting is the latest to join the Billionaires’ Row resident list at 220 Central Park South, having just closed on a 5,807 square foot penthouse for $65.75 million. Located in the 18-story villa portion, set in front of the 65-story tower, the condo is just one of 10 park-view units in the exclusive Robert A.M. Stern villa building.
Clearly a fan of Stern’s limestone towers, Sting and his wife Trudy Styler formerly owned in the architect’s 15 Central Park West property for nine years, selling for a $23.5 million profit in 2017. Amenities at their new residence include an 82-foot salt water pool, a squash court, yoga room, library, screening room, and outdoor terraces.
While $66 million is nothing to sneeze at, it hardly holds a candle to the tower’s most expensive sale for $238 million to hedge funder Ken Griffin earlier this year, which set the US residential record.
